The Spinal Cord Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury (SCI-TBI) Research Grant Program was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 2015. The is available for institutions in Minnesota to conduct research that would lead to new and innovative treatments and rehabilitative efforts for the functional improvement of people with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. Research areas include, but are not limited to, pharmaceutical, medical devices, brain stimulus, and rehabilitative approaches and techniques.
In Fiscal Year 2024, OHE received 33 proposals for funding. Following a competitive review, the SCI-TBI Advisory Council awarded 19 projects totaling $3,000,000
